I have had gum disease problems since i was a kid. Now that I’m older my dentist says my teeth are getting lose and I should consider getting them pulled and getting false teeth. She says I’m having bone loss. I was thinking about checking into permanent teeth but unsure if i would even be a right candidate for this plus the price seems to be out of reach. I regret that in my younger days I didn’t do more to control this problem but it seems to late now. Any suggestions. I just don’t want to have problems eating with false teeth as some friends I know have. Is there any other procedures that can be done that makes artificial teeth stay in place better? Periodontal disease is heredity mostly. you can start working on your gums. Brush your gums but, not away from your teeth. Glyoxide is a peroxide type of mouth disinfectant. this works good around gums and also lightens your teeth. You should call around and find out who in your town has an ultrasonic cavitron this will get your gums on the right path without periodontal surgery. You must be ready to begin a whole different regiment of tooth brushing/gum brushing. You can save your teeth if u do this. Remember do bot brush your gums away from your teeth. this will do more harm. you want to stimulate your gums so they will regrow around your teeth. This should hold your teeth in you want to get your gums so that they do not bleed. no matter how hard u brush. I had a spot that i was told would not regrow but i worked it until it regenerated healthy stimulation and circulation i believe works because it did heal on me and it as getting very serious. Remember to brush all your gums and teeth. don’t get slack in this. Don’t get in a bad routine of not brushing. or even missing a spot. it could be detrimental to your teeth. Good luck. I’m having oral surgery on Friday and I wanna know if anyone has had this procedure done before. I had to get braces because I have a baby k-9 that never fell out, so I got braces to make room for the adult k-9 to fit. My teeth are moving super fast, so now I have enough room in my mouth for the adult k-9 to fit. The dentist told me that he will pull out the baby k-9 which will be easy because it’s ready to go. He will then expose the baby tooth in the upper part of my mouth by cutting some of the tissue away, and attach a bracket to it, and then pull it into place as time goes on. YES I KNOW it sounds and maybe painful, has anyone had this procedure done, what can I expect, how long did it take for your adult tooth to fit in its place? Please be gentle I have to go into surgery on Friday morning so please don’t scare me more than I already am.

i have never had a cavity in my life everrrr! im17 and im getting invisalign. the doctor said it didnt look like i had any but he had to check if i had any cavities in order to start my treatment. im just wondering what they do if you have one. how do they fix it and do they have to inject ya with anesthetic. haha i dont know anything about it.

Question by 9buzz: Oral Surgery?
I will be getting oral surgery next week.
If anyone has gotten oral surgery, how does it feel?
Does it hurt during the procedure and after it?
Any tips?

I’ll be having some tissue taking out, in other words, my in-coming tooth will be exposed and have a bracket put on it to pull it down.

Just the fact of my gums being removed partially makes me very squeamish.

You will feel sting as the needle get in for freezing as usually when you get a filling, but otherwise, you wont feel anything.. just some pressure as they unstick the gum from on the tooth, but no pain at all.. Its not a traumatic procedure.. they will cut a little hole around the tooth and this hole will stay there (as when a normal tooth erupt.
Afterward they will glue a chain on this tooth (this chain will be used to orthodontically pull the tooth out).

It not stressfull at all, so dont be afraid.

Question by sarah grace: wisdom teeth?
i’m getting all four of my wisdom teeth taken out on june 15th.
everyone says it hurts really bad after, does anyone have some tips as to what i can do after to make the pain go away, how long it should hurt, what i should eat, and when i can start eating normal foods again??

also, when they put you down what is the process. i HATE needles and i can’t imagine getting the I-V for me to get put down.

I had all my wisdom teeth taken out without going under. I get a numbness in my mouth and the teeth got pulled out. You cant eat for 3 hours after it but its hard to talk , Everyone will cope differently

Causes for Bad Breath

It is so uncomfortable to talk with someone face to face and be worried that you may have a case of bad breath. Numerous causes exist for getting bad breath.

The primary bad breath cause.

One primary cause for anyone having bad breath is the type of food they enjoy consuming. The food particles breaking down in your mouth is what causes the foul odor to occur. Certain foods have strong oils which could be another reason for bad breath. Garlic and onions are a few examples of this. Once these kinds of food get digested their oils get absorbed into your bloodstream. Oral hygiene is vital to your goal of finding a cure for bad breath, it is also necessary for your mouth’s health. Plaque can cause problems for your gums and lead to gingivitis. On top of this it can bring on tooth decay. Even dentures that don’t get regularly cleaning or have a bad fit can also develop the bacteria that can cause bad breath.

Bad breath is often a result of just having your mouth too dry. Your saliva helps to moisten and cleanse your mouth. Your mouth being too dry helps dead cells to collect on the gums, tongue, and cheeks. These cells breakdown and give off an odor. Morning bad breath is caused by dry mouth a lot because your mouth can dry out overnight as you sleep.

Infection in the sinuses is another reason for bad breath. In fact sinus discharge going down your throat could cause bad odor in the mouth too. We can’t always keep from getting infections, but you can do certain things that can bring on a problem with bad breath. The use of tobacco products can be a top cause. Smoking dries the mouth, this can lead to a bad odor forming and you can be more susceptible to getting periodontal disease which can also bring on bad breath. Also drastic dieting brings on ketoacidosis. This causes chemicals to breakdown while you are fasting and brings on a breath that has a fruity unpleasant odor.

Regardless of the reason you have a problem with bad breath; it is more of a problem for people around you than for you personally. Once you discover the reason for your bad breath, you then can take action to alter your habits. Altering habit may just involve toting toothpaste and a toothbrush with you so you can brush after you no matter where you are or having mints and breath fresheners on you. If your problem is more serious such as dental disease, you dentist needs to be consulted with to cure the problem.

Many other reasons can cause the bad breath you have besides oral hygiene. Bad sinuses can be a cause for your bad breath. When the sinuses drain down your throat and even coat the back of your tongue. This drainage has pus cells, dead sinus cells, and other elements made by your body. Bad news though this drainage is full of protein and bacteria lives on it in the mouth to get the nutrients. Bad breath and bacteria both increase due to the bacteria having a continual food supply.

Good news is that the cure of bad breath for sinus problems is the same as any other reason for bad breath. You need to clean the mouth and get rid of the bacteria there. The secret is to get a tongue scraper so that you can scrap the tongue reaching to the very back and coming forwards. You can buy one of these at most pharmacies. When you first scrap you could gag but in time you get used to this. This is a large part of curing your bad breath so stay with it. Then you should check with your medical doctor on your sinus issues and your dentist too. There are nasal sprays and medications to cure your sinus problems, this will help you rid your mouth of bad breath and be good for your health too.

However, how do you deal with another person’s bad breath issue? This debate is an age-old one on if you inform the person. This is something only you can decide. Many do not feel comfortable informing people while others have no problem with it. You can always carry mints or gum with you to offer the person instead of telling them if this makes you more comfortable. Take some yourself at the same time.
